Overview of Role

Credit Suisse’s Product Control function is responsible for financial analysis support to the various Product trading desks.  As a key member of the Product Control Team you will work closely with the front office, trade support, financial control, technology and other infrastructure areas to ensure timely and accurate reporting of trading desk results.IBD Product Control is responsible for verifying that the revenues and expenses across the Investment Banking product suite, including corporate lending, are accurately and fairly stated, and that they are reported on a timely basis

 

In this capacity your responsibilities will include producing and monitoring Daily P&L reports and commentary, month end closing of the firm’s general ledger, balance sheet reconciliation and sign off, maintaining compliance with US GAAP reporting standards, and identifying and correcting control gaps.  The role also includes updating and maintaining various financial databases that provide reports that meet control, audit and regulatory standards.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

 

1.) This role will responsible for reporting and reconciling daily and monthly P&L for IBD Corporate Bank.

 

2.)  Responsibilities also include the month end reconciliation of the Bank Balance Sheet and Off Balance sheet relating to Credit Default Swaps along with monthly reconciliations for the Credit Default Swap P&L.

 

3.) Other responsibilities include:

 

Daily reconciliation & review of the CDS activity as well as the daily reconciliation & review of the loan sale activity done by the Corporate Bank.

 

Month-end reconciliations relating to the Mark-to-Market valuations for the Fair Value Option elected loans held by the Corporate Bank, along with the quarterly disclosures associated with Fair Value Option.

 

Provide analysis and information in response to ad hoc requests from various areas throughout the firm (Front Office, Tax, Regulatory, Internal / External Audit)

Work Experience/Background

 



1) 5-7 years experience in accounting or financial services

2) Broad experience and understanding of Product Control, Financial Control and Operations

functional processes

3) Management experience

4) Experience working with large scale financial information systems

5) Experience working with front office clients

 

Desirable:

 

1) Experience in regulatory or financial reporting processes with exposure to Lending and Credit Analysis

2) Exposure to Peoplesoft GL and Essbase reporting systems

3) Public accounting and/or consulting experience



 

Education

 



Degree in accounting, business, finance or related field

 

Desirable:

 

1) CPA. Public Accounting

2) Minor in information systems
