General Purpose of this Position
To serve as a key part of TAA’s sales force, performing all pre- and post-sales activities in government, education, and medical fields in the Central and Northern, NJ territory.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· In concert with immediate manager, develop long- and short-term objectives, goals, forecasts and implementation strategies for sales activity and productivity;
· Develop new prospects focusing within government, education, and medical according to plan;
· Assume responsibility for all aspects of the sales process through direct contact with current and potential customers within assigned territories;
· Develop proposals for prospective customers;
· Remain abreast of technical developments in TANDBERG equipment and peripherals, as well as those of competitors;
· Remain abreast of major current and emerging developments in the videoconferencing industry;
· Develop awareness of customer’s business and communication needs and lead the sales team in formulating appropriate solutions and options;
· Provide product demonstrations and proposals, price quotations and information regarding product service and delivery.
· Work with sales engineers to ensure customer is knowledgeable about the technical aspects of TANDBERG products and services;
· Plan and organize work and schedules, conducting sales calls and submitting sales reports.
Skills and Abilities
· Perform sales and account management function for assigned region;
· Excellent oral and written communication skills, including public presentation skills;
· Excellent active listening, negotiation and conflict resolution skills;
· Learn to operate all TANDBERG products and demonstrate to customers;
· Excellent customer skills for both internal and external customers;
· Relate well to employees at all levels of the customer organization;
· Provide liaison among all TANDABERG groups and departments engaged in the sales, delivery, installation function;
· Plan and implement work independently.
Knowledge
· Breadth and depth of knowledge within the videoconferencing targeting the local and state government and their affiliates;
· Knowledge of TANDBERG products and services and their appropriate applications to different business settings is an advantage;
· Concepts and principles of sales, marketing and customer service;
· Concepts and principles of project management.

Education
While a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or a related discipline is preferred, it is not required.
Experience
· Minimum of five years of progressively responsible, demonstrated success in a sales function, preferably in a high tech environment.
· Minimum of two years experience selling into Government, Education, and Medical.
