Work with a small team as a business unit liaison for Controller’s. Work closely with both Controller’s and business units to ensure adherence to corporate accounting policy for a range of products. Assist in preparation of SEC, holding company and regulatory reporting to include BASEL II.
Major Responsibilities:
Act as liaison to IRMG and external audit to facilitate quick turnaround for inquiries and resolution of any action items. Coordinate with departments/business in testing of new products / system implementations and any unusual or complex accounting treatment to ensure accuracy of financial reporting. Produce Executive Summaries for monthly financial results from ledger system, review and explain any variances. Work closely with Accounting Policy Group to ensure accuracy of all financial information. Assist in preparation of accurate regulatory and holding company reports within tight deadlines. Keep abreast of regulatory requirements / Financial Standards and any changes required in reporting. Maintain Sarbanes Oxley controls for group and conduct quarterly testing to ensure effectiveness of controls. Develop procedures and policies where appropriate and utilize Controller’s website to communicate effectively with the rest of Controller’s on items such as new products. Work on ad hoc financial analysis and projects as required.
BS or BA degree, CPA, Big 4 public accounting experience preferred. 7+ years of experience Strong MS Office skills (advanced excel) and ability to learn new systems quickly. Familiarity with relational databases, Specific technical knowledge in accounting for capital markets products including Derivatives, FX and securities as well as loans (FAS 133, FAS 115, FAS 91) Knowledge of bank systems including InTrader, Calypso, Opics, Endur, FCS AFS Loan System and/or Oracle Financial System Analyzer a plus. Ability to interpret and apply complex accounting policy. Ability to find solutions quickly. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Reports to the Sr. Accounting Manager - L.A. Region.
