LuK USAJob Description

 

The Tool and Die Designer reports to the Supervisor of Tool Design and is responsible for designing prototype and production stamping/assembly dies, fixtures, and gaging for the manufacture and assembly of LuK's products.  S/he must have good troubleshooting skills to develop the processes for manufacturing the product/detail components.  Flexibility and an acceptance of new ideas are essential for collaborating with everyone involved in the process, from other engineers to the end users of the tool.  This person must be well organized, and will ensure functionality of tools by following up with the toolmakers, end users, and supervisors to solve problems and modify designs as necessary.  It is important this person have an excellent knowledge of the tooling application at LuK USA.  This person must be self-motivated and work independently on design orders assigned to them.  S/he must continuously look at ways to improve the processes.

 

CRITICAL SKILLS: 

Technical:  CAD, PRO E, GD&T, SPC knowledge, LuK Package Software, drafting skills, Project Management System & knowledge of the current Quality specifications.

Interpersonal:  Communication, self motivation.

Organizational:  Follow schedule, problem solving, multi-tasking.

 

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Journeyman certificate or Associate degree in related field with 2 years Tool & Die experience is preferred.

 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to sit at a work station for an extended period of time
