Territory Sales Manager

Summary: The Territory Sales Person for the factory store (hereafter referred to as “F/S”) reports to the F/S Sales Manager. Where there is no designated Sales Manager, the Territory Sales Person reports to the F/S Branch/General Manager. This position regularly works with external customers, internal staff, and personnel at the company’s corporate location and manufacturing facility in Covington, Georgia.

Accountabilities: This position sells new/used forktrucks, allied products, and services using technical, organizational, and customer knowledge to influence customers and assist them in applying the products/services to their needs, resulting in revenue generation. In addition, this position participates in the development of marketing strategies at F/S.

--Makes sales contacts, researches customers’ needs, and develops application of products and services in an effective manner:

  - applies F/S market strategies and goals for each product and service;

  - researches and develops lists of potential customers;

  - conducts market research to determine customer needs;

- evaluates products and service marketability in relation to customers’ needs

  - follows up on sales leads;

  - makes cold calls on potential customers;

  - remains current with industry trends and technical developments;

- establishes and maintains industry contacts that may lead to sales.

--Develops and delivers sales presentations; closes sales in a professional and effective manner:

- develops sales and marketing proposals for customers on products/services;

- makes presentations to customers and prospects;

- acts to close deals and finalize contacts;

- meets established sales and revenue goals;

- resolves problems with products and services.

--Participates in sales forecasting and planning in effective manner:

- develops and maintains long- and short-range sales and marketing plans;

- develops reports as required by management to reflect sales activity;

- maintains promotional materials to target identified customers.

-- Participates in development of modifications to existing products to promote sales:

- recommends product modifications as required by customer;

- gathers and shares customer feedback regarding modifications;

- determines customer satisfaction with products and services;

--Develops and maintains cooperative and professional communications with all levels of F/S and corporate staff and with customers:

- communicates openly and constructively with others;

  ütreats others with dignity, respect, and courtesy;

- works to resolve concerns and problems with respect to communication.

--Manage assigned sales budgets in a timely and effective manner:

- participates in developing budgets as required by management;

- works within established budgets;

- produces budget reports as required by management.

Job Requirements:


 

Position Qualifications: -- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, business or related field preferred; high school diploma required.

-- Five or more years’ experience in a forklift sales or related field required.

--Excellent oral/written communication skills.

--Well-developed presentation skills.

--Excellent customer-relations skills

--Computer ability (MS Word and Excel).

--Knowledge of market planning and analysis.
