Description:

The Systems Administrator will assist in project and design deliverables. The Systems Administrator assists project teams including business analysts, application developers and other Unix Systems Administrators to implement server technology solutions in support of new and current project initiatives. The Systems Administrator possesses an understanding and knowledge of the following:

- A diverse set of server computing technologies to include, Intel servers, thin client server technologies, Red Hat Linux and Sun Solaris Operating Systems, Microsoft Office applications, BEA Weblogic Administration Virtual Server technologies.

- Experienced in implementing best practices for installing, managing and monitoring an enterprise class UNIX environment.

- Knowledgeable in most, if not all, server computing technology utilized by the corporate and field end users.

- Experienced in server technology support and understands the many user environments which would be supported.

- An awareness and understanding of emerging server technology.

 

This position requires quality customer service at all times and has the ability to escalate issues to management as necessary. The individual is highly motivated and willing to help out where needed. This position requires the support of server technology both internal and external.

Qualifications Standards:

 

1.  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent plus 5 or more years of professional experience.  Degree in technology related area preferred.

2. Ability to work with minimal supervision, conferring with supervisor only on unusual matters.

3. Must possess excellent written, organizational, verbal, listening, and presentation skills.

4. Advanced business and IT industry knowledge and stays abreast of industry trends and news and shares knowledge with team.

5. Working knowledge of  project management and estimation techniques.

6. Working knowledge of advanced legal contracts, deliverables, software licensing and procurement and accounting activities in the technology industry.

7. Must have strong analytical and problem resolution skills.

8. Highly developed people skills, able to facilitate team cooperation and ability to clearly communicate requirements and tasks needed.

9. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple large sized complex projects concurrently.

10. Working knowledge of client server concepts.
