Supplier Quality Engineer - ME

Validate and approve supplier manufacturing processes and quality systems. Implement and monitor the part, or assembly, qualification and certification process with suppliers and their Tiers. Comprehend and coordinate the delivery of validation testing samples. Improve quality performance of suppliers by conducting workshops at supplier locations, providing technical assistance in developing a quality system, or other technical support. Determine part critical characteristics and required process controls. Review tool, fixture, and part design. Participate as member or resource to product development teams and regularly exchange information with others inside and outside the work group.Work consists of at least 50% travel to various Suppliers and their respective Tiers. College degree with major in Mechanical Engineering. High proficiency in print reading interpretation, part measurement and gage analysis. Extensive knowledge of component machining and assembly manufacturing processes including, but not limited to ferrous and non ferrous castings.Thorough knowledge of probability, statistical quality control, and design of experiments. Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly plant process, facilities, and equipment. Expertise in investigating complex quality problems and applying sound technical judgement to develop possible solutions. Highly proficient in oral and written communication.
