Provide support to all areas of NAOE EC SBU (Engineering - advanced, program, or development; Manufacturing; Commercial; Quality etc.) where Diesel component project process technology expertise is required i.e. support launches and customer initiatives thru Core Competency teamsRequired Skills•Manage new advanced process technology development projects and coordinate activities with various internal & external customers•Develop manufacturing process designs and coordinate with tooling and equipment sources for construction & validation•Participate/Lead assigned Core Competency team •Drive standardization throughout Tenneco by use of Core Competency teams, KBM&E, benchmarking, process standards and equipment checklists•Utilize GD&T to review assembly, component layout and details to verify manufacturing feasibility•Create / participate in development of design and process FMEA’s•Work with Model Shop / tool sources to verify tool and / or part construction. Verify and establish operational boundary conditions with KBM&E and Core Competency teams•Assist with Capital and tooling acquisitions, analysis and strategies (including working with GSCM and Capital Coordinator on Low Cost Country sourcing opportunities, supplier development needs, etc.)•Assist manufacturing facilities in design and applications of Diesel Project components for LVS and CVS applications•Establish and maintain integrated working relationship with EUEC•Interface with suppliers and research & development centers to understand new product and process design and technology concepts, and their potential use throughout Tenneco•Anticipate and analyze customers’ needs for new technologies and formulate a recommendation for their design and development•Support manufacturing with launch and continuous improvement activities•Support Customer teams with quotes, designs, VA/VE initiatives and technical presentations•Champion benchmarking initiatives and integrate their findings into appropriate areas of Tenneco•Provide technical support and assistance to the manufacturing, quality, development, and program staff as required•Prepare and present technical reports•Attend training sessions, seminars, and conferences to expand job knowledge and skills repertoire•Support and adhere to Tenneco EH&S policies and procedures•Support TS 16949, NPIS, APQP and other applicable procedures and policiesRequired Experience•BSME plus 7 years experience; or Advanced degree with 5 years experience (grade 23 requirements)•Experience in manufacturing process development, fixture design, tooling/gage design, and equipment design with knowledge and previous involvement with multiple suppliers•Hands on technical knowledge of aftertreatment devices is a plus•Experience with fabricating and assembly technologies a plus•Self-motivated with good written and verbal communication skills; ability to effectively prepare and deliver technical reports and presentations, ability to establish and maintain budgets, Project management skills•Working knowledge and application of Tenneco tools is a plus (BOS, 8D, Lean, Six Sigma, EVA, TVM) •Ability to obtain certification in Lean for Manufacturing, Lean Product Development and Six Sigma Green Belt•Ability to function and lead in a team environment and to effectively communicate across various levels of the organization•Ability to travel in support of job function (plants, customers, suppliers etc.) Some International travel requiredSubmitting a resume online at a job site could cause valuable screening information to be missed.Please apply directly at: http://hostedjobs.openhire.com/epostings/jobs/submit.cfm?fuseaction=dspjob&jobid=172809&company_id=15846&jobboardid=24 We are an Equal Opportunity Employer
