Service Porter

The Service Porter is responsible for moving service customer vehicles to ensure smooth and efficient traffic flow through the facility and increase customer convenience and maintaining an orderly service parking area.Primary Responsibilities: o Assist Assistant Service Manager's by greeting customers on the drive and moving vehicles through the lanes as quickly as possible. o Install disposable seat covers, steering wheel covers, floor mats and tags in all vehicles taken in for service. o Inspect for and record on the repair order any vehicle damage present when the vehicle is taken in for service. o Drive vehicles from the service lane to their proper places in the service parking lot. Vehicles must be moved from the Service Drive in a timely manner. o Deliver the keys and repair order hard copies to the appropriate Team Leader's workstation immediately after parking a vehicle in the service parking lot. o Maintain the parking lot in a neat and organized manner and keep the parking areas free of debris at all times. Finished cars must be kept in the front lot to ensure technician access to their bays and incomplete vehicles. Continuously rearrange vehicles for easy accessibility. o Make sure all vehicles in the service parking lot are kept locked and that all windows are rolled up. o Assist in moving disabled vehicles in or around the Service Department. o Assist Lube Techs in moving vehicles in and out of Quick Lube bays when they are busy. o Operate overhead doors as needed to assist customers or service employees and to maintain the best possible shop working environment. o Retrieve customer vehicles from the parking lot when their bill is paid or as directed by the Cashier. Vehicles are to be parked in the customer pick-up area immediately when called for by the cashier. o Inspect each vehicle for lot damage that may have been done during the vehicle's stay in the Service Department. Report any damage to management immediately. o Prior to retuning a completed vehicle to a customer, remove the sea covers, steering wheel covers, floor mats, and I.D. tabs installed when the vehicle was taken in for service. o Inspect the vehicle for grease spots or any other stains or debris that the Service Department may have left and clean them up immediately using the materials and techniques specified by management. o When delivering completed vehicles to their owners, thank them in a friendly and courteous manner and let them know that we appreciate their business. o Keep Service Drive lanes clean and free of debris at all times. o Keep Service Drive booths interior and exterior clean at all times. o Take used tires and batteries to the designated tire and battery areas daily.
