Senior Paralegal

POSITION SUMMARYThis position will provide legal assistance to attorneys in the areas of general corporte and litigation matters. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES Prepare documents for the office of the VP, General Counsel & Secretary and Chief Compliance Officer necessary for the ongoing corporate existence of the corporation and its subsidiaries. Draft material for inclusion in, and EDGARize and file, SEC documents. Maintain minute books and related corporate records for domestic and international companies. Coordinate printing of SEC documents to ensure timely filing. Prepare closing documents for corporate finacing agreements. Establish and maintain litigation files, draft answers to interrogatories ans assist in fact-gathering for lawsuits. Draft various documents used in the day to day business of the corporation. Research legal issues which arise out of the corporation's business. QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree and or formal paralegal training and certification combined with significant work-related experience in a Law Department or law firm. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Must have excellent organization and multitasking skills. Able to maintain professional demeanor under pressure. Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality with respect to information learned as a result of involvement with litigation being handled. Proven success in working independently as well as in a pooled environment.
