Senior Network Engineer
Summary:
This position will be responsible for the support of our client's Unix based telephony systems.
These systems include autodialer systems running HP UX 10.2, Avaya Interactive Response (IR), and Call Management Systems (CMS) running Sun Solaris v10.x, and new vendor supplied telephone systems running Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
All of these systems are located remotely, throughout the U.S., Canada, and Mexico but supported from Dearborn.
When not directly supporting these systems, this candidate will also work with the business units on projects to develop enhancements, modifications, or security improvements to the existing systems.
Responsibilities:
Troubleshooting telephony system operations to provide 1st, 2nd, and 3rd level application support
Participating in a duty pager rotation schedule for after-hours and weekend support (7x24)
Creating Unix shell scripts to automate processes or implement new features.
Implementing and administering Ford Motor Company's version of Computer Associate's eTrust Access Control (SeOS), EHPAS, and Tivoli Storage Manager on vendor supplied Sun UX, and Red Hat Linux systems
Reviewing the Avaya installed operating system settings to ensure they meet Ford Motor Company's security compliance guidelines.
Collaborating with application developers and business analysts to develop or modify existing application.
Skills Required:
Three to five years experience with Unix System Administration within the Ford environment.
Previous implementation and support of CA eTrust Access Control (SeOS), EHPAS, and TSM on Unix or Linux systems with non-Ford operating system loads
Previous implementation and support with running vendor supplied applications designed to run on Red Hat Linux on Ford Standard SuSE Linux system.
Willingness and interest in learning and support telephony systems running on vendor supplied hardware and operating system.
Skills Preferred:
Strong written and oral communication skills Ability to work well in a team environment Ability to interface well with vendor support organizations
Experience Required:
Three to five years experience supporting Unix based telephony systems (Avaya Communications Manager, Avaya IR systems, or equivalent products) Previous experience creating Security Review documentation (Ford ACR's, ICR's, and SCRP's for non-SOX applications) Experience with configuring and supporting Unix systems remotely on an IP network Experience with reading, editing, documenting, and developing new shell scripts.
Experience Preferred:
Previous experience auditing Unix based system to ensure they Properly Administered Host (PAH) compliant.Previous experience implementing and administrating Computer Associate's eTrust Access Control (SeOS) on Unix systems with non-Ford operating system loads.
Education Required:
Bachelor degree in a technical discipline or equivalent work experience.Certified Unix Systems Administrator in HP UX v10.1, Sun Solaris v10.x, or Red Hat Enterprise Linux Standard v4.0Proven project management experienceExperience in providing disaster recovery and contingency planning for telecommunication systems.
Education Preferred:
