RF MICROWAVE ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

Detroit/Metro area

 

CATS CO in Troy, MI is currently seeking a qualified and experienced RF Engineer for an immediate Direct Hire opportunity with our client in the Detroit/Metro area.  Our client is searching for a RF microwave Electrical Engineer which will lead in the re-engineering and production launch of Radar-based collision Warning System for the transportation industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

·  Design and release Radar Based Collision warning system from technology readiness prove-out through production launch.

·  Create functional requirement specifications

·  Generate s schematics, BOM, layout PCB’s coordinate build and verifications tests

·  Testing: DV and functional for prototype and sub-system levels

·  Technically manage subcontractors by developing and managing work packages for cost/schedule/performance

·  Ability to develop DFMEA and assist subcontract manufacturers in developing PFMEA

 

REQUIRMENTS

 

·  5+ Years Experience

·  Radar Design – 77 GHz

·  Must be familiar with Radar Systems and Antennas

·  Experience with RF mmWave System level design (receivers, frequency, generation/conversion), active passive component design (amp, mixers, par.  Dividers, etc., RF mmWave test and measurement techniques.

·  Strong analytical background for detailed circuit design, experience with microcontrollers and analog/digital ASIC’s, safety critical tolerant design and electronic test and debugging.

·  Working knowledge of C, C++

·  Practical knowledge of Quality Control, 8D, DFMEA, PFMEA, DVPR.

·  Working knowledge of CAD

·  Working knowledge of vehicle network protocol such as PCAN and J1708

·  Firm knowledge of FCC regulations is a plus

·  Must be able to work in a highly dynamic team environment interacting with engineers, technicians, subcontractors and vendors

·  Minimal travel required

Job Description/Responsibilities

 

·  As a member of an RF Team tasked with developing Cellular modules for use in automotive applications based on GSM/GPRS/EDGE/UMTS chipsets.

·  Circuits may include transmitters, synthesizers and/or receivers.

 

·  Design work will include circuit simulation, tolerance analysis, verification testing and over viewing board layout, as well as component selection, evaluation and qualification.

·  Integration work will include determining radio level phasing and testing, field testing, analysis of and resolution to design issues, factory introduction, support, and yield improvements.

 

Required Experience and Skills

·  Minimum 2 years experience

·  Knowledge of s-parameters, matching, receivers and transmitters.

·  Familiarity with ADS and RF test equipment.

·  Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills, strong teamwork and organizational skills.

·  Must be able to handle tasks in parallel and be highly motivated

·  BSEE required MSEE desirable
