THE JOB:

 

Plainfield Pixley Richards, Inc. seeks a hands-on, customer-driven Quality Engineer who will report to the Manager of Quality and Engineering.Will be responsible for incorporating defect prevention techniques throughout all stages of the product quality planning process involved in the manufacture of plastic molded products for primarily automotive and medical markets. 

 

EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS

 BS in Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent.  At least five years experience in a technical position related to quality engineering in a manufacturing environment.Computer literacy that includes Microsoft Office (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word), Statistical Software, Calibration Software, and CMM Programming. Ability to use metrology and statistical methods to diagnose and correct quality issues.  Preferred Secondary Training includes: Disciplined Problem Solving, Advanced SPC, APQP/PPAP Process, GD&T in accordance with ASME Y14.5, Plastic Molding Processes, and TS16949/ISO9000 Quality Systems.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

·  Assist Program Engineering in APQP activities associated with Quality Engineering such as development of PFMEA and Control Plans, including identification of appropriate measurement methods.

·  Assist in design and development of gauging for measurement.

·  Assist manufacturing in defect prevention activities.

·  Perform Disciplined Problem Solving Techniques such as 5-Why and 8D analyses.

·  Communicate with customers and suppliers to resolve quality issues.

·  Support purchasing with supplier development activities.

·  Manage MRB Process.

·  Program and operate CMM equipment as necessary.

·  Assist in the development of DOE studies with Quality Assurance, Program Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Process Engineering.

·  Audit quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.

·  Various other miscellaneous duties as required.
