Product Stewardship Coordinator

Duties and Responsibilities 1. Monitor proposed regulations for possible impact on Car Refinishes by conducting research and, with supervisory approval and coordination with other business unit representatives, attending trade association meetings, public hearings, and the like. 2. Conduct research, as necessary, and publish documents that present the position of Car Refinishes on issues affecting product regulation; provide this commentary, in cooperation with representatives of other business units, or as appropriate with supervisory approval, directly to professional organizations such as NCPA, CPCA etc. 3. Work cooperatively with representatives of other business units on critical issues and proposed regulations by: a. Participating in conference calls, with open dialogue, to gain an understanding of how regulatory issues impact other business units and, in particular, CRNA. b. Analyzing the impact of proposed regulations or issues on CRNA. c. Supporting, developing and documenting strategies for dealing with changes in regulation such that the best interests of our client, and in particular CRNA, are met. 4. Support the dissemination of information, through reports, updates to web pages, and the like, so that CRNA management (both technical and business) is sufficiently prepared to make decisions regarding new/proposed regulations, and the potential impact of these proposals on CRNA products, customers, and business operations. 5. Provide support to customers relative to HSE issues by: a. Coordinating and meeting requirements for IMDS documentation. b. Assisting with the MSDS and AQD publication and distribution c. Analyzing customer environmental requirements, assessing the capability of CRNA product offerings to meet these requirements, and documenting recommendations based upon these analyses. d. Providing environmental reports to customers based on products and quantities consumed 6. Maintain regulatory knowledge though various means. 7. Document all procedures, work instructions and records in product stewardship using the quality management system. 8. Achieve and maintain a working knowledge of CRIANA, CRUDE, CRISP and other such tools to assist in researching the impact of regulation on the company and answering questions form colleagues and customers. 9. Participate with professional organizations such as SCHC. 10. It is critical that this position have the ability to understand complex governmental regulations and be able to explain the requirements to a wide range of audience, including peers, upper management, technical staff and line operators as appropriate. 11. Position will be a key staff member for issues related to intelligent authoring issues. 12. Develop a strong working knowledge of the Atrion system and be able to troubleshoot problems with the process of producing MSDS and labels. 13. Using the IA system and is able to produce documents as requested by customers. Qualifications A Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related field is required. A minimum of 5 years in product regulation or product stewardship, preferably in a paint or related industry is required.
