Hydro Automotive Structures, located in Holland, Michigan is a wholly owned subsidiary of Norsk Hydro, producing aluminum extruded automotive components for the auto industry.  We are currently seeking to fill the position of Product Project Manager.Product Project Manager

 

The Product Project Manager reports directly to the Chief Engineer.  This position is primarily responsible for heading and running product projects in the marketing and development phase of our business.

 

Responsibilities

Heads and runs projects in the Business Opportunity Phase (BOP).

 

Heads and runs product development activities in the Product Launch Phase (PLP), as requested.

 

Works within project frames, including timing, budgeting and cost follow-up.

 

Runs and documents development projects according to TS16949 and the divisional standard working mode, BPS.

 

Provides main customer interface.

 

Responsible for customer presence with appropriate competence and frequency.

 

Responsible for guiding development towards meeting target price, weight, and performance.

 

Responsible for the management of engineering changes (consistent drawing and product status).

 

Total responsibility for prototype deliveries.

 

Total responsibility for testing of prototypes.

 

Drives the quoting process.

 

Adheres to TS16949 and ISO14001 policies and procedures.

  Requirements

  Engineering degree (BS) or equivalent education. Must have solid mechanical engineering background Knowledge in computer simulation methods is an asset   5 to 10 years of experience required. Must be able and willing to travel 40% of the time. Strong presentation, communication and negotiation skills.
