Product Engineer (Detroit/Winsdor)

The product engineer will lead the product development team to satisfy all internal and OEM program requirements.

Responsibilities:

- Key customer interface for the product engineering of fuel tank systems

- Engineer fuel tank systems in accordance with internal/customer requirements

- Lead product designer for the creation of 2D/3D solid CAD data

- Lead APQP product development activities

- Lead/interpret in-house and out-source FEA activities/results

- Lead/track component verification and product validation testing

- Maintain project open issue list for customer

- Lead/participate in all internal/external program team meetings and design review activities, as required

Education:

Bachelor of Applied Science-Mechanical

Engineering, from an accredited University

Minimum Experience:

- 1 year automotive product engineering experience: design, release and validation

Minimum Qualifications:

- CAD software exposure: Unigraphics & CatiaV5

- FEA software exposure

- Engineering change request experience

- GD&T, DFM/DFA, DFMEA, PFMEA

- Material Science: steel/plastic mechanical properties

- Design for Cost, VA/VE and cost reduction

- Stamping and plastic injection part design, desirable but not required

- Fuel system experience desirable, but not required

- MS Office
