Product Change Control Supervisor/Manager
PACCAR is a global technology leader in the design, manufacture and customer support of premium light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks under the Kenworth, Peterbilt and DAF nameplates. Kenworth Truck Company builds premium commercial vehicles for sale in the US, Canada, Mexico and Australia and for export throughout the world. Peterbilt Motors also designs, manufactures and distributes premium commercial vehicles in the US and Canada. DAF Trucks manufactures engines and trucks in the Netherlands, Belgium and the United Kingdom for sale throughout Western and Eastern Europe, and export to Asia, Africa and North America.
PACCAR delivers its products and services to customers worldwide through an extensive dealer network of nearly 1,800 locations. PACCAR International sells the company’s products in more than 100 countries and is expanding its dealer network in Asia and throughout the world. Approximately half of PACCAR’s revenues and profits are generated outside the United States.
The PACCAR Engine Company has an immediate opening for a Product Change Control Supervisor/ Manager at its Columbus, Mississippi engine plant facility.
DUTIES: Development of department goals, equipment requirements, and operational procedures.Specification of equipment, tools, software, and operation of IT processes to support engineering activities. Scope of responsibility includes specification of engineering design methods and software as well as product definition activities including Bill of Materials management and selection processes. Responsible for supervising staff, preparing and adhering to budgets; provide design direction and review. Responsible for the implementation of projects, meeting cost & scheduling goals. Program Management.Process improvement.Provide direction for groups of engineers and suppliers based on superior knowledge of engineering and associated support systems.Serve as a leader demonstrating professionalism and teamwork.Communicate clearly, confidently and professionally with all internal levels and with other Divisions and suppliers.Travel required, short term relocation to DAF may be required.Establish reporting requirements and report filing procedures.
SKILLS REQUIRED: Background in Change Management including BOM development and selection methods preferred. Familiarity with engineering analysis tools and development of software specifications preferred. Effective communication skills (written and verbal).Experience in the implementation of Class 7 & 8 truck diesel engine and/or systems into production preferred. Supervisory/program/project management experience required. Demonstrated ability to build effective teams. Engineering design experience required. Demonstrated knowledge of Tollgate, Six Sigma, and Pro-Engineer preferred.
EDUCATION/ TRAINING DESIRED:
Seven or more years of directly related engineering experience preferred. Thorough knowledge of the Product Change Process and change control along with experience with PCMS, COPICS, SAP, and Pro/ENGINEER preferred. Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
EDUCATION/ TRAINING REQUIRED:Degree in Engineering required. Advanced degree is preferred. English required, Dutch preferred.Four years of engineering experience required.Must have advanced knowledge of DFSS and 6-Sigma techniques. Must have demonstrated ability to lead a team, including development of procedures to ISO standards and operation within these standards including internal reporting of performance. Experience coordinating with and/or directing supplier activities required.
