Principal Engineer - Electrical Hardware

GHSP offers a dynamic working environment where all team members are valued and rewarded accordingly.   We are seeking a Principal Engineer - Electrical Hardware, who excels at the following:  

Primary electronic engineer for the development of mixed technology circuit assemblies and circuit assemblies with embedded microcontrollers/microprocessors. 

Develop hardware and system concepts that satisfy the customer's requirements. 

Architect and design hardware solutions by analyzing the performance and feasibility of alternative hardware concepts using circuit theory, simulations, and mathematical models. Implement and verify the hardware design by using the appropriate tools. 

Deliver prototype hardware to customers by implementing physical hardware designs by selecting components, capturing schematics, and supervising PCB layouts. 

Develop and execute hardware design verification test plans per requirements specifications to ensure prototypes meet design requirements. Support the development and assembly of prototypes by providing documentation and assistance to ensure high quality prototypes are built in a timely manner. Demonstrate proficiency using lab equipment and debug techniques to ensure products meet design requirements.

Participate in design reviews for customer projects to ensure quality design output.

 

Determine and document customer's product and system functional requirements in order to determine the objectives for future phases of the project.

 

Assist project team members in other engineering disciplines in the development of hardware subsystems and interfaces as required.

 

Serve as a technical contributor to ensure that overall system architecture meets customer requirements and appropriate design processes are used.

 

Effectively evaluate the risks and trade-offs of technical decisions to ensure project financial objectives are met and quality is maintained.

Assists engineering management in developing proposals for new technical programs which will lead to new or improved products.

 

Directs engineering and technical support personnel as required.

 

Maintains a high level of technical competence and state-of-the-art awareness.

 

Be regarded as an engineer with significant breadth and a technical specialist.

In addition, the ideal candidate must have experience in the following areas:  Integrating electrical sub-systems to meet system requirements for timing and deterministic response.  Advanced ability to use electronic PCB design tools.  Familiarity with application of A/D and D/A converters in mixed technology circuits. Working knowledge of analog circuitry.  Possesses good electrical troubleshooting skills. In depth knowledge of embedded design and debugging tools including emulators, compilers, simulators, etc. Knowledge of and implementation of standard serial communication protocols.  Ability to create work product and other support documentation.  Good communication skills and leadership potential, team player.  Outstanding analytical and critical thinking skills.  Demonstrate the ability to work independently with ambiguous requirements in order to successfully complete tasks.  Ability to work with suppliers in the application and design of electronic components.Job Code : GHSP4 Travel Required : None Shift/Hours : First Shift (Day)
