We are looking for a

 

Payroll & Benefits Administrator

Located in Los Angeles, CA

 

 

Will provide accurate and timely processing of all payrolls (ADP and Paychex systems) and benefits. You will be responsible for the timely, accurate, & efficient processing of company payroll, and related payroll information.  You will also be responsible for benefit administration and providing customer service support to all employees regarding their employee benefit program.

 

DUTIES AND PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

PAYROLL:Collect and review hourly employee timecards each biweekly pay period to ensure that information is properly recorded and that records have the signatures of authorizing managers.Enter review, correct and transmit payroll; download/verify the processed payroll; distribute checks.Updates payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers.Determines payroll liabilities by coordinating with Paychex all employee federal, state and local income and social security taxes and employer's social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments.Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests.Execute and administer wage garnishments and child support orders.Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.Manage vacation and sick leave balance information.

 

BENEFITS:Send new hire packets and benefits information to new employees; receive completed packets, check for completeness, and send benefits enrollments to benefits broker (United Agencies) and 401(k) administrator (Paychex).Enroll new hires, maintain status changesEnter payroll and benefits data for new hires and changes for existing employees.Reconcile monthly health, dental, and vision bills with current enrollments and employee contribution to premium payroll deductions; match 401(k) contributions report to employee deductions.

 REPORTING:Run standard reports and prepare customized reports each pay period for review by HR Advisor prior to sending to appropriate leadersReporting new hires and terminations to state agencies (where required).

 Other HR Administrative Duties:Maintain all employee filesReport employee terminations on timely basis to CobraServ for COBRA processing; cancel medical and life insurances by notifying broker; inform appropriate internal Club Assist staff who need to know of terminations. Will partner on special projects, including preparation and distribution of benefit packages, personnel filing, vacation/sick leave management, 401/k administration, processing leaves, COBRA letters, employment and wage verifications.Prepares bi-weekly and monthly summary-level benefit costs, including tracking of claims.  Assists with other Human Resources, Accounting & administrative functions as needed.

 

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREDHigh school diploma or equivalent. College degree a plusStrong attention to detail Type 40-45 wpmAt least two years of responsible experience in payroll activities. Previous Paychex and Report Writer, ADP and Report Smith a major plusAbility to interpret policy & manage confidential information Excellent communication & organizational skillsHighly proficient in various PC-based software packages (MS Word, Excel); ability to create and maintain spreadsheets.Ability to work in a fast paced environment & meet many deadlines Experience with benefits administration a plus
