Cummins Power Generation division is seeking a detail-oriented, motivated supply chain professional to serve in the role of Materials Analyst.Key responsibilities include:- Drive Materials Functional Excellence with a sense of urgency toward providing excellent customer service.- Develop and implement best practices across master scheduling, cross-functional improvement teams, work flow improvements, new product introduction and total cost reductions.- Lead and manage projects supporting materials and supply chain initiatives to improve on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, on-time to start, build complete, schedule attainment, inventory days, parts shortages, and order lead-time.- Drive continuous improvement in our inventory levels, materials management practices, and our overall business model.- Flow chart complex, interrelated material flows. Recommend and implement improvements to standardize processes and reduce variation.- Use analytical methods along with qualitative processes to identify improvements- Use simulation and modeling methods to test solutions and predict outcomes- Lead/support Six Sigma projects as neededPerform cost/benefit analysis for Six Sigma and supply chain improvement projects.- Lead efforts in the developing annual improvement targets and the business case for change.- Develop, analyze, distribute and present regular functional performance reports- Assume ownership of the efforts associated with the compilation / development of performance measures. - Mentoring and coaching the Materials team in achieving the key measures. - Assist with physical inventory setup and executionThe successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to hit deadlines, assume ownership and manage complex processes. Educational/Certifications: - Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business, IT/IS or related discipline (required). - MBA in Supply Chain Management (preferred). - Professional Certification (CPIM required - CSCP preferred)Work Experience: - Experience in Manufacturing/Operations/Supply - purchasing, production planning, inventory control preferred. - Master scheduling experience is required. - Solid understanding and operations experience in fundamental supply chain concepts - Demonstrated knowledge and daily management of MRP II systems. - Experience in Oracle is strongly desired. - Strong Analytical/Financial Skills - Technical savvy with strong expertise in data management skills - Proficiency with software such as Access, Minitab, Discoverer and Excel - Creating Graphs and Charts. - Data Modelling and Dimensional Modelling. - Experience developing complex financial models and performing analysis - Certified Six Sigma Black Belt/Green Belt or desire to achieve - Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing - synchronous mfg, pull system, kanban, etc. is required. Certification preferred. - Ability to manage projects to completion and ability to deal with large amount of data, multiple requests, and deadlines. - Seven Step Problem Solving - Demonstrated capable experience in material process improvements-identify, investigate, scope, resolve, measure, and follow-up on problem resolution. - Strong presentation skills Cummins is an Equal Opportunity Employer
