Manufacturing Engineer - CNC Programming

 Due to our growth, we currently have an opening for a Mechanical Engineer with CNC Mill and Lathe Programming experience at our Pompano Beach manufacturing facility. 

 

Summary: Plans, designs, and coordinates integration of machinery and equipment into manufacturing process of industrial establishment by performing the following duties.   

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Manage process improvement projects in Machining operations:Throughput time & productivityCNC machining program generation and refinementOptimization of feeds and speedsOptimization of tooling for mills and lathesReduction in equipment set-up times

 

Develop manufacturing processes for proposed new products

 

Optimize machining and assembly methods

 

Develop manufacturing cost estimates in support of quoting

 

Develops and writes equipment specifications, performance requirements, cost analysis, and proposal for integrating machinery and equipment into manufacturing process.

 

Oversees installation to ensure machines and equipment are installed and functioning according to specifications.

 

Test capability of machines to perform designated tasks.

 

Confer with establishment personnel to implement operating procedures and resolve system malfunctions.

 

Determine parts supply, maintenance tasks, safety procedures, and service schedule required to maintain machines and equipment in prescribed condition.

 

Manage the implementation of new technologies, including validation and testing, installation and training, and development of support strategies

 

Participates in meetings, seminars, and training sessions to stay apprised of new developments in manufacturing technology

Education and/or Experience

Bachelors Degree in Engineering; plus 3-5 years related experience in metals machining production; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Six Sigma Green/Black Belt or lean certification preferred

 

Computer Skills  

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have knowledge of CAD/CAM Programing, idealy INVENTOR and ESPRI;  SAP; Database software; Design software; Manufacturing software; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Office Professional Word Processing software.
