Job Description

Assist machining operations in meeting production performance goals through initiatives in safety, product quality, machine availability and cost reductions. Provide technical assistance and engineering support to the manufacturing production area. 

 

Opportunities Include

- Design, develop and implement equipment and processes for manufacturing operations as needed to support Value Stream Model implementation using ECN documentation.

- Manage cost reduction projects in all areas of manufacturing.

- Provide production area with training on machines, tooling, processes and daily inspection needs.

- Establish min/max tooling requirements through history of usage data and reliability studies.

- Assist manufacturing production area in setup and production problems via various troubleshooting and problem solving techniques.

- Create, control and issue process sheets to production sub-plant.

- Specify materials and heat treatment/plating requirements

- Implementation of quick change tooling programs in accordance with SMED practices.

- Participation in kaizen teams and assumes kaizen team leader position as necessary.

 

Background and Skill

- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Technology

- 3-5 years experience in a machining production environment around CNC machining equipment.

-   Management and organizational skills to handle multiple priorities involving as  many as three to five major projects simultaneously.
