Manager, IT Project - I
Cooper-Standard Automotive Inc., headquartered in Novi, Michigan, is a leading global automotive supplier specializing in the manufacture and marketing of systems and components for the automotive industry. Products include body sealing systems, fluid handling systems, and NVH control systems. Cooper-Standard Automotive Inc. employs more than 19,000 people across 80 facilities in 19 countries. We are currently seeking a Manager, IT Project – I.
The IT Project Manager – I is responsible for the development and management of a project plan within the framework of the Cooper Standard Project Management Methodology. It is his or her responsibility to make sure that the right resources are assigned to the right tasks at the right time. This position must work with others within the organization to alleviate any roadblocks to project goals. Maintains primary responsibility for the quality of a project’s deliverables and its successful completion. Responsible for ensuring that the project is completed on time and within budget.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Successfully manages projects to ensure the quality of a project’s deliverables.
2. Assists with the definition of project objectives, business drivers, and return on investment analysis.
3. Develops Scope Statement or Project Charter to clearly define the objectives of a project.
4. Develops project plans and manage the day to day project team activities of the project plans.
5. Assists in the development of realistic budgets and timelines.
6. Delivers stated objectives within budget and defined timeline.
7. Defines Project Successes and Risks.
8. Develops Risk Mitigation Plans.
9. Enforces the established Project Management Methodology and Project Management practices of Cooper Standard Automotive.
10. Assists in making recommendations regarding resource assignment.
11. Provides Project Status Reports to I.T. Management.
12. Facilitates escalation of significant issues to appropriate levels of management.
Required Education and/or Experience:
1. Minimum 2 years experience in the successful management of projects.
2. Bachelor’s or graduate degree preferred.
3. Project Management Professional certification preferred.
4. Automotive industry experience required.
