MRO Buyer

We have an excellent opportunity for you to join a growing global automotive supplier as a MRO Buyer at our Auburn Hills, Michigan location.

OVERVIEW:

 

To procure quality materials and services for each plant in the most cost effective manner.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  Purchases materials and services.Identifies opportunities to reduce cost by competitive pricing, negotiations, online reverse auctions and bundling commodity purchases with other facilities.Process orders for requisitions in a timely manner.Ensures order confirmation, late order status and filing.Maintains an accurate inventory in the tool crib.Manages information in SAP to ensure accurate price and lead time for stock and vendor information.Participates in cross-functional teams to identify and resolve problems or improve processesMentors and trains associates as needed to help better understand the equipment and services that this position supports.

 

 

 

 

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

 

 

 

·         Associates degree plus 4 years related experience.  Experience in MRO buying in a manufacturing facility, preferably automotive.

·         Knowledge of contract laws and standard operating procedures.

·         Negotiating, analytical, problem solving and communication skills are required.
