We are an equal opportunity employer. Cummins Power Generation is seeking a professional Supply Chain Manager to serve in the role of Internal Materials Planner. The Planner executes the production plan that the Master Scheduler has created. The Planner creates an executable, daily build plan. The Planner will interface with the internal/external planners and Operations to execute the plan. Responsibilities:- Create the daily production line schedule which optimizes product mix to satisfy end customers and maximize production capabilities. - Create the daily production line sub assembly schedules.- Plan and sequence the flow of large components to line side. - Resolve capacity issues through prioritized scheduling and overtime recommendations. Implement plan and identify effects on customer schedules. - Recommend and implement plans to increase/decrease capacity in response to long term changes in the Master Production Schedule.- Ensure material pull systems are maintained and improved. - Work with Manufacturing Technical Services to create line map by providing daily demand quantities. - Maintain line map flow integrity by analyzing changing demand patterns and updating pick quantities.- Participate and contribute, as a permanent member, of the Line Cross Functional Work Team- Participate and contribute, as a member, on New Product Introduction Teams.- Identify and root cause part shortages. Team with internal and external suppliers to minimize part shortages for specific line. - Identify and root cause inventory adjustments. Design and implement plan to eliminate. - Identify and root cause on time delivery misses to customers Experience Required:- Bachelor's degree in Operations, Business or related discipline- APICS certification (preferred)- Five plus years increasing responsibility in materials related functions- Knowledge of ERP systems, including production control planning and scheduling, inventory control, bill of materials, item master and routing functions- Demonstrated knowledge of constraint capacity analysis.- Understanding of interfacing systems including design, documentation and general ledger- Product knowledge sufficient to understand BOM structure and implications for material flow of - Engineering changes and New Product Introductions- Proficiency with Office Suite of products- Demonstrated ability to participate in teams. Lead teams to implement improvements.- Demonstrated ability to use problem solving tools similar to those acquired through 7-step and Six Sigma methodology.- Demonstrated ability to negotiate.- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in diverse cross-functional teams.- Demonstrated planning, organizing and project management skills.
