Graduate Level - E-Motors and Power Electronics

Graduate Level - E-Motors and Power Electronics Positions Seeking Engineers with Graduate Level Degrees (Masters and/or PhD grads with relevant research/internship/co-ops) for E-Motors and Power Electronics in the following areas:   Electric Motor System/ Controls Electric Motor Design Power Electronics Design including Motor Inverter, DC to DC Converter, PHEV Battery Charger  Job responsibilities will include the design/development of Electric Motors Control Software and Power Electronics for future Chrysler hybrid electric and PHEV vehicles.Deliverables for the positions will be to design/develop/release Electric Motor Control Software and Power Electronics assemblies for HEV applications on Chrysler hybrid electric and PHEV vehicles including motor inverters, DC to DC converters and AC to DC chargers.The challenges within the next year timeframe are to complete the development of Electric Motor and Power Electronics requirements, module integration into vehicles and supplier sourcing activities for future Chrysler hybrid electric and PHEV vehicles. Electric Motor Controls design/development for integration with the hybrid operating system will take place concurrently with the hardware integration activities.Future work will involve creating additional Power Electronics designs for use on next generation of hybrid and plug-in HEV products. Required Qualifications: Major required: Master’s Degree in ME, EE, Controls, Systems Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Technology, Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering or Applied Physics from an ABET accredited university Must have practical experience (internship, co-op, research, industry) working with one of the following:  Electric Motor Design Motor Inverter Design Electric Motor Controls Electric Motor Calibrations DC to DC Converter Design PHEV Charger Design Power Electronics Design Preferred Qualifications: PhD in above majors Hybrid Systems and/or Hybrid Vehicle experience preferred High Voltage training/experience; Understanding of Product Development Systems a plus Foreign language skill a plus Other Requirements: A well organized team player Able to adapt to a multicultural environment A self starter who’s capable of working in a diverse workforce Capable of strategic planning and execution Expected travel to assembly plants and suppliers in Asia, Europe and the USA, a maximum of 6 to 10 weeks per year Compensation:The ideal candidate can anticipate a competitive and attractive salary and benefit packageLocation: Hybrid Development Center in Troy, Michigan
