Global Market Analyst - Global Market Analyst
Allison Transmission designs, manufactures and markets automatic transmissions and Hybrid propulsion systems for on-highway trucks and buses, off-highway vehicles and equipment and military vehicles worldwide. The company, headquartered in Speedway, Indiana, employs 3,400 people and sells its transmissions through a worldwide distribution network and sales offices in North America, South America, Europe, Africa, and Asia. Allison Transmission generates annual revenues in excess of $2 billion.
Position Description
1. Support Strategic Marketing and Business Planning initiatives, mainly related to new product studies.
2. Evaluate economic and commercial vehicle industry data. Develop and maintain relationships with professional contacts who can support the development of accurate industry and economic data.
3. Work with Sales and Marketing personnel to analyze market conditions, develop market strategies, priorities, and prepare reports and presentations.
4. Develop market specifications for new products and product features to address dynamic market trends. Support the APDP process, PLTs, cadence teams and special teams as required. Develop business case and/or submit and follow OS as appropriate.
5. Analyze competitive data including prices, technical specifications, marketing and sales strategies and distribution practices.
6. Execute special projects and assignments in a timely manner.
7. Explore methods to reduce costs and improve effectiveness of department, business systems, business practices and policies. Be proactive.
8. Support International marketing / sales programs, business functions and trade shows as required. Travel as required.
9. Exhibit high degree of product knowledge, market knowledge and communication skills to work effectively with others.
10. Must be able to work independently and within a cross functional and cross cultural team environment
Position Requirements
Required: Bachelor Degree

- Ability to travel domestically and internationally
- Good oral and written communications
- Ability to organize, analyze, and provide sound recommendations based on business case
- Analytical skills
- Project Management skills
- Excellent computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Preferred:
Marketing or Business Degree, MBA
- Knowledge of Allison Transmission products
- Knowledge of Allison Transmission business structure
- Knowledge of Allison Transmission Marketing and Sales practices
- Field experience
