Facilities Engineer

PACCAR delivers its products and services to customers worldwide through an extensive dealer network of nearly 1,800 locations. PACCAR International sells the company’s products in more than 100 countries and is expanding its dealer network in Asia and throughout the world. Approximately half of PACCAR’s revenues and profits are generated outside the United States.
The PACCAR Engine Company has an immediate opening for a Facilities Engineer at its Columbus, Mississippi engine plant facility.
DUTIES:
JOB OVERVIEW: Support plant-wide electrical and control systems. Design and implement facilities improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve reliability.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Designs and implements modifications to existing electrical system. Solicits bids, selects contractors, and coordinates with maintenance and production as required. Ensures that the project is completed within budget and on schedule, ensuring that the contractor follows all Paccar Inc safety requirements.
• Coordinates and supervises major maintenance, emergency repairs, and corrective actions on equipment and facilities.
• Maintains necessary records and documentation, preparing management reports as assigned.
• Coordinate and maintain plant computerized energy management systems.
• Implement and maintain computerized PLC and CNC
• Provide maintenance supervision support as needed.
• Continuous improvement of MES working with ITD
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS: May perform other projects/duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE/ SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Minimum 5 years related experience.
• Familiar with risk assessments and safety evaluation
• Ability to manage multiple projects with the flexibility to adapt to conflicting requirements.
• Knowledge of city, state, and federal electrical codes required. Knowledge of mechanical and safety codes preferred.
• PLC programming using Siemens Step-7
• CNC programming using Siemens Step-7 Powerline and HMI advance
• Demonstrated ability to create and interpret schematics and ladder diagrams to effectively trouble shoot systems.
• Exceptional computer literacy. Microsoft, Trane Tracer Summit, and AutoCAD desired.
• Hands on experience with equipment controls.
Must be able to work within a manufacturing environment that will necessitate the wearing of protective equipment necessary to perform the job functions. Must also be able to work in and around moving machinery, moving assembly lines, and confined spaces.
EDUCATION/ TRAINING REQUIRED:
• BSEE or equivalent Technical degree.
