Job Description : 

 

Okamoto is a world class manufacturer of automotive vinyl, TPO, and TPU products.  The company is building a new facility in Sandusky Ohio and is seeking an experienced EH&S engineer.

 

Position Summary:

 

The position will require a strong and experienced safety professional capable of assuring the facility complies with all local, state, and federal regulatory environmental and safety regulations.  This includes developing formal written programs, internal and external reporting, training, and promoting the improvement of all aspects of company safety. Improvement goals to reduce recordable and lost time incidents along with lowering the cost of compliance should be an on-going process.  The position will require strong interaction with all levels of the organization and also provide on-site recommendations to management to assure compliance in all areas.  Effective interpersonal and leadership  skills are essential to utilize a team oriented approach in problem solving and safety improvement.

 

Qualifications:

 

Qualifications include a related (4) year degree or equivalent demonstrated experience (5) years combined with excellent written and oral communication skills.  Demonstrated knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations combined with training skills and certifications.  Ability to analyze problems and create effective solutions while functioning in a team environment.
