• Manage Manufacturing Engineering And Maintenance functions for all product lines within facility
• Develop processing methods; design of tooling, fixtures, gages; create CAPP Processes, Floor plan layouts, FMEA’s, Control Plans & Flow Charts; assist maintenance in obtaining outside service quotes and arrange for service, assist maintenance in researching spare parts, writing purchase requisitions; Create and update CNC Programs (Smart Cam Software) + DNC system; CAD (Autocad software).
• Capital Manager for Pottstown in Diamond Source – work with plant controller to create, develop capital expenditures and track cash flows for capital budget items; write capital budget requests into Diamond Source; support Mfg engineers in creating RFA’s and determine payback and cost savings; support Mfg engineers in creating purchase requisitions for capital budget items
• Assist Plant Controller to manage asset base – determine obsolete and impaired assets; support engineers in creating asset dispose forms; research & obtain quotes for new equipment, rebuilds & major repairs of existing equipment
• Manage RFQ’s – support engineers in developing machining methods & cycle time (tooling fixtures/gages and equipment estimated rates; support engineering in time study in determining pcs./hr (labor rate std) in M.O.S.T.
• Champion VE/VA workshops – develop and track cost saving ideas generated in workshops.
• APQP meetings – coordinate interactions between plant engineers, quality, maintenance and production with division personnel; coordinate and track new product releases from sample builds to SOP; coordinate and track existing product improvements programs (part number consolidation, new product designs, raw material improvements, customer quality concerns.
• ECR/EDR meetings – submit and track the plants top five priority ECR/EDR’s including updating reports and track completed and rejected items
• Track Durable & Persuadable tooling usage by product line (cost per pc) – review weekly transaction reports created by Bruckner; create, track and post usage of tooling by product line monthly; compare tooling goals and past usage data; review obsolete & slow moving tooling and revise max/mins
• Coordinate engineering with division product and application engineering – assure all important and critical information is communicate to all areas of the facility.
• Recruitment of new employees – serve as hiring manager for all new employees including resume review, interview and selection processes
• Manage Asset Capacities – Assist engineers in developing and updating asset process descriptions & Bottleneck reports for all product lines (OEE capacities).

• Bachelor Degree in related technical field
• Min 5 yrs experience in manufacturing engineering management role within a union environment
• PLC Control systems; familiarity with robotic applications and interfaces
• CAD (Autocad software); CNC program experience (Smart Cam Software); DNC system;
• Experience in budget preparation and capital expenditure processes
• Machine tooling knowledge;
• Familiarity with ISO standards and LEAN Mfrg methods. â€¢ Leadership ability, expertise, and knowledge in the following:
• Machine tools, tooling gages, processes, and estimating of all products produced in the plant.
• Technologies and processes to obtain improved productivity.
• Ability to delegate and administer all engineering and maintenance services in order to adhere to continuous improvements throughout the plant.
