QUALIFICATIONS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSREQUIREMENTS: •Provide product engineering support to Portland production. •Develop timely, cost-effective, on-site solutions for production problems related to product design or documentation. •Resolve per-serial and/or design problems and facilitate design changes as necessary. •Evaluate products, processes, and systems from a technical product design perspective and assist Corporate Engineering staff in determining the impact of design concepts within the production environment. •Communicate and interact with Plant personnel, all applicable Corporate departments/functions, and other Plants to continually seek ways to improve existing designs or develop new designs to improve manufacturability and/or cost savings. •NOTE: Shift rotation may be required.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor of Science in Mechanical /Electrical Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Technology or related technical discipline with a minimum of three years experience in design/ manufacturing engineering is required. Familiarity with assembly and manufacturing processes required. Truck component systems design experience is preferred. CAD experience is preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required. The successful candidate must be able to organize a large number of unrelated activities.
