Job Description TOYOTA MOTOR ENGINEERING AND MANUFACTURING NORTH AMERICA, (TEMA)Ann Arbor, Michigan   ABOUT TOYOTA MOTOR ENGINEERING AND MANUFACTURING NORTH AMERICA, (TEMA)   Thank you for your interest in Toyota Motor Engineering and Manufacturing of North America (TEMA).    TEMA represents one of our most recent commitments to continued growth in North America-the consolidation of manufacturing and R&D operations.  From offices in California, Michigan, Arizona and Washington, DC, the Toyota Technical Center TTC conducts automotive R&D work in everything from the testing and evaluation of US parts and material to emissions certification and technical research. TTC is also playing an increasingly important role in the design-engineering and development of Toyota products, particularly those developed for the North American market.   ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY EMISSIONS REGULATORY ENGINEER    The Vehicle Regulation & Certification Engineering (VRCE) Group of the Toyota Technical Center Division (TTC) has a current opportunity for an Emissions Regulatory Engineer to meet expanding responsibilities. This position requires an enthusiastic, hardworking self starter to join our talented engineering team located in Ann Arbor, MI.    Responsibilities Follow and understand vehicle emission (GHG, tailpipe, evap, etc.) regulations issued by the U.S. Environmental; Protection Agency and Other related regulating agencies. Support Toyota's position and TEMA's activities toward EPA's regulatory development, including negotiations & requirements. Report/summarize rulemaking activities to responsible Toyota departments globally. Interact with regulating agencies and industry organizations to assure Toyota's position is reflected in proposals and industry and N.A. Toyota affiliated meetings. Interface with Toyota design and regulatory engineers to understand the impact of regulatory proposals on Toyota products and plans. Bachelors Degree in related engineering /science field. Minimum 8 years of total working experience in automotive powertrain field, with min. 4 years experience in automotive emission regulatory affairs. Existing knowledge of related regulations and standards is strongly preferred. Experience in conducting, managing or leading pre-regulatory research activities is preferred. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Excellent interpersonal skills, primarily in working with regulatory agencies and industry colleagues. Strong project management skills. Interest and/or experience in working in a multi-cultural work environment. Good working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, IE), MS Project and database management. Willingness to travel in North America and Internationally.
