Durability Test Engineer, Greensboro NC Long Term Contract
Perform engineering measurements using variety of sensors and data acquisition instrumentation system. Perform experimental stress analysis using strain gage and strain gage based Wheatstone bridge transducers. Perform cumulative damage calculation to estimate fatigue performance of truck components. Perform servo-hydraulic rig simulation test for design durability verifications. Issue Engineering Reports.BSME/MSME with solid mechanics/experimental mechanics concentration. Strong background and interests on stress analysis, material failure mechanisms and fatigue damage calculation. Solid understanding on engineering vibration and structure dynamics. Good understanding on principles of sensors & instrumentation and their applications.Problem solving skills: Analytical, logical, systematic and comprehensive thinking. Strong engineering sense, quick grasp on ideas and situation in problem solving. Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.Other technical interests: Programming capability, enjoy hands on work & troubleshooting, lab experience with strain gages, data acquisition instrumentation, digital signal processing and MTS servo hydraulic are also plus. Communication & Interpersonal skills: Excellent oral & written communication skills in English. Good interpersonal skills to work in a team with different educational background and cultural diversity. Desired Experience: ideally 3 - 5 years of experience with automotive durability testing in the following areas: strain gage applications, Vehicle instrumentation and data acquisition; Servo-hydraulic rig simulation; Digital signal processing and analysis.
