Assist users with technical support of desktop computers, applications, and related technology. Support includes specification, installation, and testing of computer systems and peripherals within established standards and guidelines. Activities require interaction with application software and operating systems to diagnose and resolve unique, non-recurring problems. The position utilizes one-on-one interaction with end users and staff. This position also assists in the maintenance and testing of network servers and associated equipment. The position’s responsibilities require independent analyses, communication and problem solving. Work is performed with little supervision and requires initiative and judgment. The Desktop Support Technician position will effectively communicate with end-users to answer questions and resolve technical issues under the guidelines of the Help Desk center.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent is required.BS or BA degree in computer science, business or related field is preferred.Certification in A+ is required.Network+ and/or MCP on Microsoft Windows OS or Office are preferred.Minimal 3 years of personal computer experience with Windows OS (like Windows XP, Vista, Server 200x) and MS Office Suite.Minimal 2 years experience with Windows networking including configuration and troubleshooting of TCP/IP.Bilingual (English and Spanish) with strong written and verbal communication skills.Must be able to lift 50 lbs and be able to move monitors and CPUs.Occasional travel to branch offices will be required.
