Our client, a major Construction, Earthmoving & Mining Equipment manufacturer seeks accomplished Design Engineers with product design/development experience in Automotive, Agricultural or Heavy equipment industry, with experience in Hydraulic systems (hydraulic actuated systems, fluid systems, hydraulic routing, tube or hose design etc.), sheet metal or casting design. CAD systems experience in Pro/E greatly desired.
Description:
· This Engineer participates in concept design and development of complex machine Hydraulic systems for production release in a manner to ensure that MWL products provide superior performance, reliability, durability, quality, serviceability, and customer satisfaction.
· Key role of Design Engineer is to be a contributor to the planning and delivery of projects, and communicate technical information gained on projects with other team members; will be involved in full life design cycle and actively interacting/presenting to external groups and team members
· Work on Pro/E Fluid Lines for hose & tube design and hydraulic routing throughout the machine (off-road construction vehicles); design associated component installation hardware e.g. manifolds & brackets.
· Perform system analysis, identify potential design problems before they exist in iron, conduct design reviews and FMEA’s where appropriate, validate designs and resolve problems by communicating the urgency to the appropriate teams.
· Major focus of job is technical delivery; this engineer works directly with different business units, suppliers and other teams; decisions made will affect the project team and its project delivery.
· Must be pro-active and keep up to date with all design/engineering changes going on around; must be a thinker and see the big picture.
Requirements:
· BS Engineering degree or equivalent experience;
· >3 years of product design & development experience; self-starter with strong analytical and technical skills.
· CAD experience in Pro/E (other CAD systems may also be acceptable - Catia, Solid Works etc); Hydraulic system/component design (routing lines, line materials, fittings, hydraulic schematics etc) experience highly desired.
· Sheet metal & Casting design experience.
· Familiarity with Engineering standards; knowledge of GD&T principles.
· Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
· Ability to communicate technical information effectively with team members in the work group, and personnel in other business units and suppliers.
· Desired: product design experience in heavy machinery/construction/agricultural equipment.
