DIESEL TECHNICIAN / MECHANIC - BUS SERVICE

 to accommodate our growing Bus Service needs.

 

McCandless of Arizona is the IC Bus Corporation and International Truck & Engine Dealer, representing medium and heavy trucks, bus, leasing & rental, parts, service and mobile maintenance in the state of Arizona.

Bus Service Technicians are responsible for performing vehicle repair and maintenance work as assigned in accordance with our in-house and manufacturers' standards, which may include, but is not limited to:Determining vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged partsKeeping equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; installing component and part upgrades; controlling corrosion; completing winterization proceduresCorrecting vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as, power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics; completes machine shop operations; making adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction unitsVerifying vehicle performance by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systemsComplying with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standardsUpdating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical and regulation publicationsMaintaining vehicle records by annotating services and repairs

Qualified candidates will have:Proven, hands on experience as Diesel/Bus technician in shop environmentOwn your own tools Valid driver’s license with good driving record, have or be able to get a CDLAble to read, understand, & apply information from manuals & computer including troubleshooting documentsDiagnostic skills/experience & attention to detail a must Dependable, responsible team player with a positive attitudeASE Truck Certification a PLUS
