Looking for opportunities with a global, industry leader?  Oerlikon Balzers is the leading global supplier of PVD coatings and other surface technologies that significantly improve the performance of precision components as well as metalworking and plastics processing tools.  We now offer an excellent opportunity for a Cutting Tools Specialist who can achieve the goal of increasing the usage of PVD coatings in drilling and milling operations for engine and transmission plants, mold makers and automotive part manufacturing operations; ultimately increasing sales revenues.

As a technically adept, hands-on, results-focused professional with an excellent work-ethic, you will consult directly with customer’s engineers and shop floor operators to determine optimum machining applications (these may include tool geometry, machining parameters and coatings) and evaluate customer failures of cutting applications.  Including working with area sales engineers and operations on specific key accounts in a project-based, deadline-driven environment.

This position maybe located anywhere within Michigan, Pennsylvania, or Ohio, provided it is within 25 miles of a major, international airport. Expect up to 70% travel.
 

Qualified candidates must have:

–  Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (or work equivalent)

–  3+ years’ combined experience in solution or manufacturing field sales and working directly with engineers and operators of high volume parts manufacturers

–  2-4 years working in machining (drilling and milling)

–  Basic knowledge of PVD coating and surface treatments, as well as CNC operations, machining conditions/parameters and tool geometries

–  Ability to read blue prints

–  Proficiency working with MS-Office (i.e., Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

–  Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills

–  Product knowledge in tool geometries and machining parameters (feeds and speeds) is strongly desired
