Customer Quality Engineer
Description:Eaton Corporation located in Ann Arbor, MI has an opening for a CUSTOMER QUALITY ENGINEER. Primary Function:Provide customer quality support and expertise to the Eaton production plant(s). Act as the primary quality point of contact for assigned North American Fuel Emissions Safety Controls (FESC) customers.Specific Functions: - Customers 24 hour quality point of contact for immediate problem resolution- Support and attend customer Production Trial Runs and PPAPs when requested- Investigate and eliminate causes of sporadic quality problems and follow up on corrective actions.- Visit customer locations on a proactive basis - Address and analyze customer complaints, warranty, and returns and assist the Eaton plant(s) with corrective actions.- Ensure timely closure of all 8-Ds from open customer quality issues- Support project management teams in understanding and developing the products and services based on the Voice of Customer that meets Customer Specific Requirements.- Provide critical Statistical Analysis to project management teams on product and process design as appropriate to the activity on -hand during the Advance Product Quality Planning process.- Conduct "APQP Audits" of the launch projects to ensure the activities and tasks comply to all internal and customer specific requirements, and have the "quality of deliverables" expected by Eatons PROLaunch process prior to gate review process. Be the independent voice of the customer in ensuring compliance.- Conduct systemic analysis of customer complaints, and drive continual improvements projects to reduce product and process variation through out the entire business unit.- Will be the primary owner of the "FESC Customer Relationship Management" deployment tactics for the business unit, which includes gathering track and report out all identified North America customer quality scorecards on a monthly basis.- Assist Eaton plant(s) with customer PPAP activities (ie: PPAP notification, follow-on support, and approval)- Record, track and report out all North America customer quality issues on a monthly basis- Perform additional functions as required.Basic Qualifications: - Working knowledge of Statistical Process Capability analysis- Ability to create Control Plans and lead Corrective Action teamsEducation: BS in Engineering or 5-7 years of quality engineering experience requiredExperience: 5-7 years of quality engineering and quality systems experience in the fuel emissions and safety control product segments of the automotive industryTraining: SPC Training, Minitab Training, 8D Methodology Training Principal Accountabilities:- Ensure Voice Of The Customer is related to all business functions- Improved Customer Satisfaction and relationships- Closure of Corrective Actions for customer reported issues- Zero quality spills- Zero customer PPM scoresQualifications:- Working knowledge of Statistical Process Capability analysis- Ability to create Control Plans and lead Corrective Action teamsEducation: BS in Engineering or 5-7 years of quality engineering experience requiredExperience: 5-7 years of quality engineering and quality systems experience in the fuel emissions and safety control product segments of the automotive industryTraining: SPC Training, Minitab Training, 8D Methodology Training Principal Accountabilities:- Ensure Voice Of The Customer is related to all business functions- Improved Customer Satisfaction and relationships- Closure of Corrective Actions for customer reported issues- Zero quality spills- Zero customer PPM scoresSalary/Benefits: Salary commensurate with experienceJob Location: Ann Arbor, MIJob Number: RUSAEATON252-616967Company URL: http://www.eaton.com/careers Eaton Benefits Company: www.eaton.com Location: Ann Arbor, MI 48103 Status: Full Time, Employee Job Category: Quality Assurance/Safety Relevant Work Experience: 5+ to 7 Years Job Number: 27983BR.1072
