Controls Engineer
Successful Global Supplier for Automotive & Industrial Markets is growing and is looking for an experienced Controls Engineer.
Responsibilities:
Design of control systems for multiple operating systems.
Directs and coordinates activities of personnel responsible for Division indirect commodities procurement and distribution and capital equipment.
Designing, implementing, maintaining, and improving electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for Company projects.
Operating computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to improve throughput and quality.
Directing and coordinating the construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements.
Performing detailed calculations to compute and establish manufacturing, construction, and installation standards and specifications.
Inspecting completed installations and observing operations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.
Preparing specifications for purchase of materials and equipment.
Responsible for the development, maintenance, updates, and monitoring of project schedules, budgets, and cost.
Develop, update, and maintain project schedules and provide reports and analysis on schedule performance.
Utilize historical data and information to develop capital improvements.
Develop, update, and maintain project budgets and provides routine reports on project cost and forecasted cost to complete.
Setup, program, modify, and maintain a variety of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), and reporting applications.
Manage multiple automation projects as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelors Engineering Degree, BSEE Preferred, and three to five years related experience.
Possess good interpersonal skills and an ability to lead cross-functional teams. Must be able lead, orchestrate, and advise maintenance personnel with regard to project implementation.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret engineering related plans and technical procedures, including electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical diagrams.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Computer skills including spreadsheet programs, word processing and Windows applications.
Ability to program PLC’s (including Allen Bradley) and have experience with “Wonderware” or equivalent PLC interface software.
