Body Manufacturing Design Engineer

Hyundai Kia America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is currently looking for a Body Manufacturing Design Engineer who will: Consult with Parts Quality, Purchasing, Supplier Quality Development, Quality Assurance, Process Engineering and other groups to review vehicle issues, resolve problems, create change data and/or print drawings using the CATIA workstations. Review high incident customer quality concerns identified on the Quality Incident Report system with Quality Assurance Department to determine if the solution requires a design change.  Review part and component designs on CATIA and make proposed changes to present for approval by Hyundai Motor. Consult with suppliers on design issues, respond to suppliers' requests for opinions, and evaluate suppliers' proposals. Collaborate with Purchasing to localize parts suppliers and decrease costs.  Evaluate design, materials, and suppliers to reduce manufacturing costs. Consult with Manufacturing Technicians to resolve vehicle issues in the Repair Area of the manufacturing process; provide expert advice, drawings, or information to assist in bringing vehicles into Quality compliance for release to final inspection.

Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering 5 years experience in Engineering Design and/or Development of Automotive Vehicle Body Systems 5 years experience in Automotive Vehicle production and assembly Candidates applying for positions with Hyundai Kia  must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
