Automotive Industry Consultant
AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY CONSULTANT – Troy, MI
The Global Automotive Group of Global Insight, a premier provider of economic information, analyzes the automotive industry, markets, and product strategies on a global basis and provides detailed, comprehensive forecasts of future developments. Global Insight is seeking two Automotive Industry Consultants to work in the Troy, MI office.
As a Global Insight Automotive Industry Consultant, you will analyze the market demand, technology, and supply chain for automotive components and systems, based on your interview-based and desk research. The focus of the research will be on powertrain (engine, transmission, and driveline) electrical/electronic components, and issues surrounding sustainable mobility. You will also: Your work will involve:Write reports of your findings and analysisDevelop cooperative relationships for research purposes with technical and marketingpersonnel at component suppliers, vehicle manufacturers, regulatory agencies, and industry associationsProvide ongoing support of clients and occasional support of local sales staff for business development
Job Requirements:Degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, business studies, market research or related disciplineStrong technical understanding of automotive systems, and excellent analytical and quantitative skillsExperience with automotive industry analysis, and an interest in working at the intersection of technical, market, and business issuesDemonstrated commitment and enthusiasm for automobiles and the automotive industrySelf-directed with ability to plan and execute work with minimal supervisionAbility to work as part of a team to deliver work collaboratively and promptly meet tight deadlinesExcellent written and oral communication skills Highly proficient using MS Office
