Assistant Product Expert/Assistant Chief Engineer - Turbo

The Assistant Product Expert/Sr Advanced Engineer is responsible for working with the Commercial Vehicles (CV) Product Expert to ensure that new product designs meet customer and internal technical, quality and reliability requirements.
 
This is a new position dedicated to working and learning directly from engineers within the CV business that have 20+ years of experience in the turbo industry.  This role is meant for someone who wants to grow and develop into a technical product expert.
 
Key responsibilities of the position include:
· Work with CV Product Expert to lead design and phase reviews for WW CV product portfolio to ensure products are compliant with customer technical, quality and reliability requirements and post-product development processes; e.g. sourcing ability, testability, install ability and serviceability
Review and approve reliability analysis and reliability predictions of new designs Review and approve product qualification and reliability test plans and results Advise leadership team and President on product development issues potentially impacting the business Improve product and process development and qualification processes and tools to meet internal and customer standards for quality and reliability and to optimize development cycle time 
Key Deliverables:
Clear assessment and go/no-go gatekeeping of product and process readiness at phase exit review andproduction launch of new technology Ensure products achieve HTT and customer technical, quality and reliability requirements Definition and deployment of successful development and qualification training, tools, standards, and processes to the engineering community 
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's in engineering 5+ years industry experience in product development  
Additional Qualifications:
Turbomachinery product/ technology knowledge (prefer 10 years) Interpersonal and presentation skills Experience in reliability engineering,  preferred 
 
 
Scope and Key Interfaces:
Key working interfaces: platform leaders, product engineers, customer teams, quality organization, and customers. Direct reports: none Quality and reliability authority covering the work of 50+ technical personnel. Impacted span of activity covering $20-$30M development effort
