The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company currently has an opening for a Senior Vehicle Dynamics Engineer at its' corporate headquarters in Akron, Ohio.

Goodyear is manufacturing and marketing tires for most vehicle applications. Goodyear's Tire-Vehicle Engineering Technology (TVET) Department is responsible for the development and implementation of advanced concepts and computational tools for the analysis and prediction of Tire-Vehicle Performance. Our ability to simulate Tire-Vehicle performance interactions guides our development of new products. Goodyear's ability to employ new methods of modeling and simulation is key to maintaining a competitive advantage and driving our technology and its pace of advancement.

Our current efforts in doing Vehicle Simulation work are expanding and we are actively seeking candidates for these areas of responsibility. Projects will cover a wide cross section of tire-vehicle applications. A willingness to learn and understand tire development is critical.

The TVET Handling Dynamics group is currently seeking candidates with an MS or Ph.D. in Vehicle Dynamics. The successful candidate will collaborate with Tire Designers, Vehicle Development Engineers, Material Specialists, FEA Specialists to evolve products and processes to accelerate the tire development process

Working as an engineer at Goodyear can provide the opportunity to work with advanced technology to face some extremely complicated technical challenges. A Vehicle Dynamics Engineer at Goodyear will work on a wide variety of projects that could include:

-Analysis of new vehicles and their tire performance requirements
-Conducting and maintaining established analysis methodologies for tire data, and objective vehicle data
-Developing new technology to predict product performance
-Provide direct technical support for both internal and external customers (Vehicle Manufacturers)
-Developing or utilizing computational tools to predict tire performance
-Expanding our fundamental knowledge of tire and vehicle interaction

M.S. or or higher level degree in Mechanical Engineering, including 2.8 Minimum G.P.A.

Fluency in Matlab is a necessity. ADAMS and, or Carsim proficiency is desired. Involvement in Formula SAE, or other Racing Activities a plus. Knowledge of a wide array of vehicle suspension design and future vehicle trends is also important.
