GENERAL SUMMARY: Assembles tests and evaluates existing, new and prototype equipment, including field tests. Repairs and maintains existing equipment. Sets up equipment for marketing presentations and provides technical support to other departments. Ensures quality installation of parts in equipment to meet standard requirements. Coordinates on a daily basis by the Lead Technician in conjunction with direction from the Product Engineer, Support Supervisor.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assembles and tests implements and modifies existing tractor implements and attachments. Repairs and maintains existing equipment and facilities. Provides input on the performance and durability of prototype samples based on testing results. Gathers and organizes technical information and data specifications for analysis.Sets up new equipment for marketing presentations and participate as required. Verify installation instructions on new equipment and make corrections as needed. Operates all products for testing and presentations. Transports heavy equipment over the road using semi truck and trailer. Points equipment utilizing paint booth. Attempts to be flexible and chooses a variety of solutions to fit the situation. Uses internal resources to support one's ideas or projects. Strives to discover innovative ideas that result in incremental or dramatic improvement. Demonstrates commitment to continuous improvement and willingness to challenge existing norms. Shares ideas and technology with colleagues and internal groups. MUST have a current resume for review and consideration. Must be able to pass CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK, 10 PANEL DRUG SCREENING, EDUCATION VERIFICATION.SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE: Thorough knowledge of the mechanics involved in the assembling and testing of equipment. Possesses basic knowledge of diesel and gas engines, drive trains, machine and welding, hydraulics, and electrical systems. Ability to use a PC, mainframe computer, and operate various electrical and hand equipment. Must possess a valid class "A" driver's license and be able to operate a forklift. Ability to use power tools (air, electric and hydraulic). Basic knowledge in the use of machine tools is useful.WORKING CONDITIONS: The incumbent in this position performs the majority of his/her duties in a shop environment where temperatures range from below 40 degrees to above 100 degrees Fahrenheit. The incumbent is required to frequently travel when demonstrating products. Requires extreme concentration and focus when testing, gathering, calculating and evaluating results from prototype samples. The incumbent may be exposed to potential hazards including, among others, noise, chemicals, paints, fuels, dust, heat, moving parts and operating mechanical and/or electrical equipment.
