Field Engineer (Product Support Manager), Aviation Products Division

Aviation Product Support provides value-added" Field Engineering expertise and services to our aviation tire customers, who consist of original equipment manufacturers, commercial airlines, military aviation, general aviation (piston and business jet), 3rd party maintenance providers and tire distributors. Proactively, Product Support Managers educate and meet with the customers regarding optimizing aircraft tire performance and providing guidance on required care and maintenance" of aircraft tires and guide them on how to obtain the highest number of landings and best optimized retreadability of our tires. The goal of the department is to provide our aviation tire customers with Value-added Product Support." Internally, Product Support serves internal customers such as the sales account managers and also tire technology and the quality organizations.

Supported by a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering or an aviation/aerospace technical degree and experience in new and/or retreaded aircraft tires (ie manufacturing, application and/or design), the Field Engineer will perform technical tire performance reviews at airlines, OEMs and 3rd party wheel and brake shops and internal linkages in the aviation product group (sales, marketing, tire technology, research, etc).

Do you have a demonstrated history of successfully working with cross-functional groups and positively influencing others? Do you possess excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Lotus Notes, and superior communication skills, as well as successful experience working with customers on a face-to-face basis, listening to, evaluating and helping solve product performance issues? If so, this could be an excellent opportunity for you. If selected, you will analyze tires involved in on-aircraft incidents," investigate product improvement tires requiring on-site field engineering and cross functional communication, plan and teach standardized educational courses regarding aviation tire care and maintenance to shop and line mechanics, engineers, pilots and airline management as well as perform other duties as required.

Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and be willing to relocate to the Atlanta, GA, area, travel (some overnight) approximately 25% and be open to the possibility of future relocation. A minimum of 5 years work experience in tires or tire retreading is desired.
