Electrical Engineer

Global Engineering & Manufacturing Technology (GE&MT) has the responsibility for inventing, designing and delivering product and process technologies to make Goodyear's Business Strategies achievable. This department engineers and integrates new technologies to support new products and increased manufacturing capability. It also provides direct and timely support to plant production, engineering, maintenance and energy conservation.

The successful candidate will work within the Final Finish & Test Team. The team is responsible for the design, procurement, development and installation of various tire plant final finish and test equipment, including force variation, dynamic balance, x-ray, shearography, resiliometers, grinding equipment and tooling.

The incumbent will be trained and work with other team members, as well as several engineering consultants and suppliers and with Corporate Plant Planning, tire plant personnel and the Regional Engineers during project scope development phases.

Your experience with AUTO-CAD, CADRA, CADAM, Pro-Engineer or similar software programs, strong interpersonal skills, character and integrity, good verbal, written and electronic communication skills, and ability to function well in a team environment, could put you on the road to a successful future with Goodyear!

The successful candidate's initial primary function will be to work with commercial uniformity machines and balance machines and system integration of the final finish equipment to other plant computer systems, as well as perform other tasks as assigned. Responsibilities may grow to work in other areas of the team.

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter with the ability and desire to complete capital project commitments and to interface cross-functionally with Goodyear and non-Goodyear associates from a variety of backgrounds.

A minimum of a BS in Electrical Engineering or other four-year technical degree required. Experience with programming languages (Visual Basic and Labview), programming Allen-Bradley PLCs, specification, procurement and installation of equipment and with tire uniformity machines or balance equipment preferred. The incumbent must be willing to travel both domestically and internationally approximately 30% of the time.
