Want to join the team that is revolutionizing the Autobody industry? Then look no further. Sterling Autobody is a dynamic, fun place to work with opportunities for advancement, and we are currently looking for an experienced General Manager for our Ontario, CA body shop.
The General Manager leads our store’s production via the hands-on running of our unique Damage Analysis stage which is the backbone of our repair process at Sterling. Our GM is supported by an Office Manager who leads the customer service, administrative and bookkeeping efforts of the front office staff.
Our ideal candidate will have the skills to lead a team, manage a retail business, and exceed customer expectations.
· Working knowledge of human resource management policies and practices, including compliance with all applicable federal, state and local employment related regulations.
· Ability to interpret financial system and statements.
· Ability to discuss and ensure the repairs are meeting OEM specifications, including all parts and labor required, to repair the vehicle accurately.
· Working knowledge CCC Pathways estimating systems.
· Ability to lead production team and articulate/train the Sterling process to all employees.
· Ability to lead a front office team and articulate/train the Sterling process to all employees.
· Ability to build and maintain a team environment and foster positive morale and employee skills advancement throughout the store.
· Ability to lead, teach, coach and mentor in an ever-changing environment.
· Always display Sterling’s values of integrity, teamwork, people development and have a “can do” attitude.
· Understand the principles of Inventory Management.
· Possess superior skills in customer service, organization, attitude, competitiveness and a high level of integrity.
· Quality driven with attention to detail.
· Innovative team player with strong communication skills.
The typical Sterling store averages three to five million dollars in sales annually with 20 to 25 employees. While the day-to-day focus is on managing production, our General Managers are also encouraged to become a positive community influence, actively participating in local civic organizations and arranging for Sterling to sponsor a number of local youth activities.
Our ideal individual will have a combination of 5–10 years of hands on management experience preferably in the auto collision industry/retail management areas; with an emphasis on financial and statement interpretation. Candidate must have excellent communication skills, be able to motivate and inspire his employees, and ensure that company's policies and procedures are consistently followed. A college degree is preferred.
Our General Managers participate in the Sterling University training tailored for leadership positions in the company, including both locally taught sessions as well as multiple day sessions requiring travel and overnight stay. As with all Sterling management, compensation is a combination of salary, near and long term performance based bonuses, on company wide results.
