Overview: Our Transportation group provides comprehensive planning, design, and engineering services for all phases of airports and aviation, bridge, rail, roadway, and transit projects. Responsibilities: An opportunity exists for a highly motivated Engineer / Engineer-in-Training to become part of a dynamic transportation group specializing in surface design. As the successful candidate, you will lead major elements of work and assist senior project personnel in providing professional services to many public sector clients across Southern Arizona. The successful candidate will be part of an energetic team providing transportation design of rural roadway and urban streets. Applicant will perform basic roadway geometric design as well as utility research and design, storm drain design, quantity calculations and cost estimates. The candidate should have diversified design experience and be able to perform design and CADD work independently on complex projects with minimal supervision. Responsibilities will include performing general engineering designs of individual tasks on transportation-related projects such as, preparing preliminary and final designs, specifications, bidding, cost estimates, assessing project schedules, coordinating approvals, sub consultants, and clients, and using independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications. Qualifications: Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Professional Registration or EIT certificate, or significant relevant experience and good technical writing skills. Highly proficient with Micro Station, AutoCAD, HEC-1, StormCAD or InRoads-SelectCAD and other software such as Microsoft Office i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook is preferred. You are a self-motivated individual possessing strong written and verbal communication skills and demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy. In addition, your ability to work in a team environment, with minimal supervision, would be considered an asset.
