Nielsen is looking for a Technical Architect to join the Innovation Delivery Organization (IDO). As a part of the IDO team you will be an integral part of a high energy team that is revolutionizing the way that Nielsen delivers value to both its customers and to Nielsen. As a Nielsen Technical Architect you are responsible for providing leadership and direction in driving the corporate technology vision, and IT investment strategy that is congruent with the business strategy. The ideal candidate will create and maintain Enterprise Technical Architecture (ETA) standards to ensure data and application integrity in our Answers(tm) On-Demand environment. Answers is an intuitive, web based, Business Intelligence solution that empowers users to gain market insights, share information, and take action to drive profitable results. The Technical Architect will also act as an internal consultant to proactively identify and provide technology and standard solutions to meet or exceed expectations.Qualifications· 10-12 years experience in information technology with a broad exposure to various platforms, languages, databases, and production/infrastructure environments.· Experience in software development, process design, and product planning.· Experience in managing customer expectations.· Experience in multiple platforms: mainframe, UNIX, and client/server environments.· Provides clear and concise written and verbal specifications, directions and status to team members, associates, manager and clients.· Speaks effectively in group situations, at company and client meetings.· Applies technology to solve business problems.· Demonstrated track record of delivering solutions including research and development that meet business/customer needs and expectations.· Solid ability to effectively lead and influence multiple levels of an organization across functional boundaries.· Proven organization and Time Management Skills (ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines)· Ability to work independently with little supervision and direct the work of others.· Complex problem analysis and solving skills.· Strong interpersonal skills.
