Staff Landscape Architect

We are currently seeking a Staff Landscape Architect for our Des Moines office.

The Staff Landscape Architect is responsible for completing assigned tasks under the direct supervision of the Team Leader, Project Manager or Project Landscape Architects. The Staff Architect is expected to apply the concepts learned through required education, and common sense to create design concepts that are incorporated into the final design of projects. Seeks guidance from more senior architecture staff and applies acquired knowledge to related assignments.

Will be responsible for, but not limited to:

Conduct detail design phases of professional work using relevant office software, modeling, graphics, and CADD technology.
Works with CADD Technicians in order to complete design details and plan sets.
Performs research and writes objective summary reports which are used in the completion of project work or inspection.
Completes construction observation, inspection and data collection duties as directed by senior architecture staff.
Develop project specifications that meet the needs of clients under the direction of senior landscape architecture staff.
Communicates with client and internal design team as directed by senior landscape architecture staff.
Compiles and analyzes data on such site conditions as geographic location; soil, vegetation, and rock features; drainage; and location of structures for preparation of environmental impact report and development of landscaping plans.
Prepares site plans, working drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for land development, showing ground contours, vegetation, locations of structures, and such facilities as roads, walks, parking areas, fences, walls, and utilities, coordinating arrangement of existing and proposed land features and structures.
Monitors construction and supervises field personnel assigned to a task, data collection or a specific project.

The Staff Landscape Architect must possess a bachelors degree in landscape architecture from an accredited four-year university and at least two years of relevant landscape architecture experience. Must have experience with municipal projects. Must have basic knowledge of office software (Word, Excel, etc.), Photoshop, CADD software and other design automation tools.Landscape Architect
